We just want to advise Roger's fans who have joined the Forum since it's inception of a decision that has just been made.
Because the Forum has for the most part been vastly under-used and the basic format has been largely superseded by blogs and other technologies, a decision has been made to discontinue and terminate this area only of rogerwhittaker.com.
However, take heart, for all is not lost!
Plans are already in progress to create a formal "OFFICIAL" Roger Whittaker Page on FACEBOOK!
Once FACEBOOK is up and running "The Forum" will be wound-up.
No decision has been made yet as to whether existing Forum pages will be archived and remain viewable.
Please DO NOT go and try creating your own Roger Whittaker page on Facebook. This will only cause confusion for everyone.

It's worth keeping the forum posts as an archive, since it contains information that people will find useful. It'd be easier to keep it as it is now, than to sift through and only keep some things.

I would like this Forum on here on ---://---.rogerwhittaker.com to be continued exactly like before and like nowadays though it has for the most part been vastly under-used and though plans are already in progress to create a formal "OFFICIAL" Roger Whittaker pages on ---://---.facebook.com .
In my opinion it doesn't matter at all to have this Forum on here exactly like before and like nowadays and at the same time as if parallelly to have a formal "official" Roger Whittaker pages on the Facebook too and perhaps a Forum like this on here on there too!
So, that's why, please, don't terminate and don't wind up this Forum from here when the formal "official" Roger Whittaker pages has been created and started to work on the Facebook!
Please, let these existing Forum pages on here be intact and remain them viewable and let every member of this Forum have the possibility to create, to delete and to edit their own postings just like before and just like nowadays even if these Forum pages will be archived and remain viewable! It is very important to have the possibility to edit own postings on the Fan Forum even then when the Fan Forum is terminated and remained viewable!
So, please, don't delete these existing Forum pages from here. Let's continue on here exactly with the same chances and with the same possibities to write and to edit our own postings just like before though creating and later having Roger Whittaker pages on the Facebook perhaps with a Forum on there like on here too!
Furthermore, in my opinion, if members of this Forum on here who has English their mother language would have written on here much more actively the decision to discontinue and to terminate this Forum on here would not have been made! My mother language is Finnish and I have more difficult to write in English compared to them whos mother language is English.
For a long time it has been impossible to get yourself registered and to become a new member in to this Forum, alone without help of Jesse Waggoner (the webmaster of this Official Website Of Roger Whittaker) too and to get yourself a new member in to this Forum has been therefor for a long time a long process and that's why this Forum has not gotten enough new members for a long time. I assume that this is one of the reasons for the decision to discontinue, to terminate and to wind up this Forum which I consider and feel a great pity!
Despite of all on above I wish all the best to every fan of Roger Whittaker on here on this Forum and on everywhere! Let's continue this Forum here just like before and just like nowadays and let's meet in the near future on the formal "official" Roger Whittaker pages on the Facebook (with a Forum like this on there?) too!

What had been suggested initially was that once Roger had an OFFICIAL celebrity page on Facebook that the Forum would be wound up.
Rather than just delete postings and completely remove all the Forum files it has been proposed that the files remain accessible for a period of time as an archive record for reference purposes.
As such, Forum memberships will cease and no new postings will be possible.
Anyone can (as now) refer to the Forum without being a member or logging-in. |
